    Forum Rules

Your forum username must match, at the very least, your character's first name.

    Linkshell/Free Company

The following rules apply universally to the Free Company and all Linkshells associated with it.

    1. Help and Help alike.
    2. Act mature.
    3. Don't like swearing, use the fucking chat filter, it's what it's there for.
    4. If you are invited to something, pull your weight and follow instructions.
    5. Accept constructive and polite criticism and feedback. Do not be insulting in criticising.
    6. You are a representative of the LS/FC. Any misconduct towards any member of the LS or any other player, GM, staff or individual otherwise will not be tolerated. This involves, but is not limited to: doing your job properly in dungeons. Grieving. Harassing. Insulting.
    7. All LS/FC members are expected to help new members and players through constructive criticism and polite explanation. Conversely, new members should not fear to ask questions and should accept criticism in the manner it is meant, as an aid to help you learn.
    8. You will not be expected to attend any LS/FC events, however, they are often fun so I would advise attending none the less.
    9. Have fun. It's a game!

In short: Don't be a dick.

    Furthermore:

Any LS or FC member seen or reported doing the following will not only be subject to immediate dismissal from the LS/FC but will also be reported to GMs.

    Hacking.
    Exploiting.
    Botting.
Intentionally glitching mobs or npcs or anything else.
Using third party programs or anything generally accepted as cheating.
Real Money Trading. Whether it be buying or selling or any other form of interaction.
Altering game files to achieve an advantage.

If you notice any LS/FC member doing such things you should not report them to a GM directly, you should report them to the LS/FC leadership so that we may investigate.

Note: Though on record the LS/FC does not condone it you will not be removed for the LS/FC nor reported for third party programs that do not offer you any form of in game advantage such as recording programs nor will you be removed for altering game files in a manner that does not offer you an advantage in game such as .dat modding armour visuals. Any LS/FC member who has been found to report a member to GMs for such things will be removed.

    Endgame/Events

The following rules apply to the endgame/events LS only. Being a member of the casual LS or FC does not guarantee you admittance to the endgame shell.

    1. All normal FC rules apply.
    2. If you are online you are expected to attend events. Occasional exceptions may be made, but only with prior knowledge by the leadership and only on a case by case basis. By applying for the LS you are agreeing to make a commitment for the benefit of everyone in the LS including yourself.
    3. Real life takes priority. Do not fret about not being able to make it online. However, failing to log in for a number of consecutive runs may prevent you from having lotting rights during a run. Furthermore any individual believed by the leadership to only be logging in the bare minimum to avoid losing lotting rights may also lose said rights at the leadership's discretion.
    4. Going afk during an event is not permitted. You may of course pop the WC (with notice, between pulls) or answer your front door(again with notice) but you will not be permitted to go afk for any extended period of time and may be expected to withdraw from the even if you are required to do so. Furthermore whilst you may request to go afk to grab a drink you must wait for the run leader to give you permission to do so.
    5. You will be expected to turn up to endgame in a fit enough state to participate. Remember, it is not just your time you are wasting, other people are committing time to this as well. This does not supersede rule 2. If you are not in a fit state to attend events, do not log in, or you may be penalised by the LS leadership for breaking rule 2. Just to be clear, if you've been drinking, fine, if you're so pissed out of your skull you're going to make stupid mistakes or pass out, don't bother.
    6. The LS leadership reserves the right to deal out punishments as they see fit if you break any LS rule or simply show poor conduct. This may include but is not limited to the deduction of points, the suspending of lotting privileges, dismissal from the shell or dismissal from the FC and all LSs associated with it.

    Recording and Streaming

The following applies to the FC and all associated LS and members. Breaking these rules may lead to automatic dismissal.

You may at your own discretion record any activities with the LS/FC and its members. You may not however use these videos to show the FC/LS or its members in a negative manner. If the FC/LS screws up and has a laugh about it, fair enough. If an individual screws up and is upset that they did so, please show them enough respect not to publish the video.

The FC/LS leadership reserve the right to ask you to remove any published material involving the FC/LS without reason. We furthermore reserve the right to ask you to remove published material involving any of our members without explanation.

Furthermore you may not record audio of LS/FC members without their consent. If you intend to publish this audio you should also make that clear. Do not constantly request the FS/LS leadership for this privilege, the answer will probably be no. Also, if you are given permission to record audio of FC/LS members do not assume that they have also given you permission to publish the audio.

You may not, in any way, shape, or form, monetise videos of FC/LS events. Other people have worked hard on the event too, there is no reason you should profit off their work when they themselves can not. You should also not monetise videos made with your fellow FC/LS members without their consent. The only exception to this is that the FC/LS leadership reserves the right to monetise videos in order to offset costs incurred by the FC/LS such as hosting costs.

The reason for the rules above is that not everybody wants their activity posted over the internet. Nor do they want their voice to be. Please respect your fellow FC/LS members and abide by these rules. If you want to share the experience with fellow FC/LS members I would suggest uploading to a website that allows you to make videos private and post the link on the FC/LS forums only as people are less likely to object to that.
